Equipment used in aeronautical navigation systems, the DVOR (VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range), is a radio navigation aid used by aircraft to follow a pre-established flight path.
The station's VOR antenna emits a VHF radio frequency signal in all directions, which is received by the VOR equipment of any aircraft within range and tuned to the station's frequency (which can range from 108.00 to 117.95 MHz modulated FM).
This equipment when combined with the DME allows to calculate the exact position in distance and direction, this is how this equipment becomes vital for the mapping of navigation routes and approaches.
The Instrument Landing System (ILS) is the approach and landing aid system established by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) as a standardized system worldwide.
This control system allows an aircraft to be precisely guided during the approach to the runway and, in some cases, along the runway.
